What must I remember to do before leaving home?
1. Make sure your passport with entry clearance/visa (if required)and your letter of invitation are in your hand luggage. Be aware of immigration and customs requirements.
2. Ensure you have sufficient funds in your bank account to cover your outstanding fees from the program and for expenses not covered by the programme fees.
3. Have access to your money through debit/credit cards, money for exchange, local currency, etc.
4. Pack all the educational and personal items you will need for your stay. Please see below for a list of recommended items.
5. Arrange personal medication, prescriptions, insurance, and health coverage for your stay, as required.
6. Pack your luggage in a safe and practical way, leaving in your carry-on bag the things you will need during your trip and on arrival. Take care to familiarize yourself with Hungarian and EU regulations regarding what items it is illegal to possess or import.
7. Know how to get to Kaposvár University (see below), when you are expected there, and whom you should report to when you arrive. Please print out the relevant information and keep it with you at all times.

What should I remember to pack for my stay in Kaposvár?
Academic materials: pens, pencils, notebooks, laptop, information and materials related to any presentation you plan to give or project you plan to work on while staying in Kaposvár.
Personal items: appropriate clothing [August average daily temperatures are: high 27C (81F) and are 16 C (61F)], medicine, towels, toilet products, hair-dryer, alarm clock, camera, laptop, broadband internet cable, water bottle, fork, knife, spoon, and plug/current adapters (see below).
Hungary uses Europlug or Schuko sockets and has a wall current of 220-240 Volts.
Most laptops' transformers are designed to take this current and will work with only a socket adapter, but simpler devices such as electric razors designed for a different current may be damaged if they are plugged in without a current adapter. Please check the information on each of your devices before plugging them in!
